Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and Police Superintendent Cheryl Clapprood joined with the Springfield Police Department and family and friends of Carla Ambrose, wife to fallen SPD Officer Kevin Ambrose, to honor the memory and sacrifice of Officer Kevin Ambrose with a special dedication ceremony at hole #7 at Franconia Golf Course. Officer Ambrose wore badge #7 and hole #7 at the golf course will be dedicated in his memory.
Mayor Sarno states, “Officer Kevin Ambrose made the ultimate sacrifice saving the lives of a young mother and her child. On this 11th anniversary of his passing, Police Superintendent Cheryl Clapprood and I wanted to join with our brave and dedicated men and women of the Springfield Police Department to honor his memory. Officer Ambrose proudly wore badge #7 and it is only fitting that we hold this special dedication ceremony at the 7th hole at our Franconia Golf Course.
