Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the field of laboratory medicine was a hidden figure, working behind the scenes to diagnose an array of diseases and conditions. Swift implementation of widespread diagnostic testing brought laboratory medicine to the forefront of healthcare, but the pandemic also unearthed ongoing challenges that require interdisciplinary collaboration to solve. Guest Speaker: Taryn Waraksa-Deutsch, MS, SCT(ASCP), CT(IAC)
Taryn Waraksa-Deutsch is a Third-Year DHSc Scholar and an ASCP board-certified Lead Cytologist. She was recently named one of ASCP’s 40 Under Forty Honorees and now serves as a regular contributor to the medical lab professional’s blog, “Lablogatory.” Her Research Project is titled “Leading Medical Laboratory Professionals toward Change Readiness: A Correlational Study.”
