Bay Path University’s Data Science Graduate Program Ranked Third in the Nation by Fortune Magazine

Bay Path University’s online master’s degree program in data science has been ranked third in the nation by Fortune Magazine.

Bay Path’s program moved up a spot from last year when it was ranked fourth by the business outlet. Fortune’s rankings are determined by a program’s selectivity score, which measures the undergraduate GPAs and years of work experience of its students, along with the program’s acceptance rate. In addition, Fortune evaluated the total enrollment size of the program and the number of applicants for the most recent year.

“This ranking confirms the incredible caliber of faculty and students who comprise this program. Some of the most well-known universities in America are on this list, and we absolutely belong on it, too.” says Xiaoxia Liu, the director of Bay Path’s Applied Data Science Program. “Bay Path is an institution where we focus on preparing students to fill in-demand, growth-oriented jobs, and highly trained data scientists will have many opportunities to use these important skills.”

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects employment of data scientists to grow by 36% from 2021 to 2031, much faster than the average for all occupations. The median annual wage for data scientists was $100,910 in May 2021.
